Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh green beans trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds toasted
  • 1/2 teaspoon of both salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add green beans using tongs to prevent splashing. Meanwhile, prep an ice bath in a large bowl and place a colander in the sink. Allow green beans to blanch for 2-3 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath to prevent further cooking. Drain cooled green beans in the colander.
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Once the pan is warm, add the almonds and toast until they become slightly golden, about 4 minutes. Set toasted almonds aside on a plate.
  • Add the butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add the garlic and saute until fragrant, 1 minute. Add the green beans and toss to coat. Continue to cook and coat the green beans for 2-3 minutes. Add the almonds and toss to combine. Remove pan from heat. Transfer to a serving plate, and enjoy!
